German Village / Merion Village
German Village is a historic village just south of downtown Columbus. Architecture dates from the 1840's-1890's and has changed little since its inception. German Village is home to multiple award-winning restaurants, and several shops, galleries, and businesses intermingle with the homes in the area. With a strong sense of community and its beautiful buildings German Village is not easily forgotten.
Merion Village in located in the city's near South Side and is home to many historic houses, churches, schools, and businesses. Dubbed "Steelton" due to the building boom in the 1920's and 1930's, Merion Village continues to attract new residents for its strong neighborhoods and close proximity to many large Columbus employers.
